Heartwood
Naturally durable
The slow growth of Nordic pine provides a large proportion of high quality heartwood with increased durability (class 3, EN 350-2). As a result heartwood is an excellent material for demanding end uses. Heartwood absorbs moisture significantly less than sapwood and is therefore used widely in outdoor applications. The heartwood also copes with weather and humidity issues more effectively.
