''Flower beds above the city''

To develop additional usable space of superstructures by using wooden structure the following is suggested;

A) superstructure. This is a honeycombed structure which consists of a hard wooden carcass like a frame and transverse walls/diaphragms.

In general, the design is multi-element however it helps alleviate the overall weight of the superstructure. The triangular, hard floor construction to be assembled is particularly distinguished. There you can place household lines of communication; heating / cooling, ventilation, water, sewerage and wiring.

The weight of superstructure is evenly distributed in the building through the tape wooden "shoe."

The proposed solution of the superstructure presents different landscaping possibilities; terraces, balconies, roofs. All in green, all in colors.

Superstructure is like a flower beds. The would be superstructure building is like a stand under the flower beds.

Building a superstructure is a big problem.

Tenants, owners certainly do not want to have new challenges, new aliens above themselves. To reach their positive response, we propose to design a mezzanine between the building and the superstructure. There will be a space for active and passive recreation, cafe / bar, fitness center and there will be green and flowers all around.

The roof will also be covered with a lawn or solar panels as well.

 b) In addition to the superstructure we recommend that another storey is built on the building. A wooden "flowering wood ''

We recommend that 100 sq.m. of space is redeemed  on the floors  vertically and  superstructure '' wood" is implemented (parking, shopping center, warehouse or otherwise). "The proposed version of the "trefoil", with 15 residential floors and three public ones we shall get about 9.500 sq.m. of new useful space. Exciting!

The building to be built on consists of a solid core, where you can find an elevator staircase assembly. Wooden cells will be assembled on the cantilevered palm of the core. For moderate loading of the wooden frame, in this case, cantilever support will be provided once after every six floors. The overall building will be light. It will stand as a blossoming "tree".

Superstructure /flower beds and the building to be built on (blossoming trees) will decorate any city and will add a lot of new additional areas and green spaces improving urban environment. "Trees" can be joined together by bridges connected by pivots - transitions and will be a "blossoming forest".

Plan B : City Above the City architecture competition

Metsä Wood challenged architects and students around the world to push the boundaries of modern wood building design in the urban environment. Entrants from 40 countries created their Plan B to urbanisation using wood (Kerto® LVL – laminated veneer lumber) as the main material. The task was to design a wooden extension to an existing urban building. The entries were designed to 69 cities worldwide.
