The nominations for the 2014 Finnish Wood Award have been made – you can vote for your favourite. Among the 15 nominees is the day-care centre Omenapuisto in Helsinki, Finland, where there structure and façade are made with Metsä Wood’s products: Kerto and King panel.
The Wood Award has been given since 2014 to a building that represent high-quality Finnish wood architecture or to where wood has been used in a way that promotes building techniques. The day-care centre, located in Vuosaari in Helsinki, wood is visible in both the building materials and in decorations: except for the base floor, the whole building is made of wood.
