The markets for
Kerto® LVL (laminated veneer lumber) wood products have traditionally been in Europe. However, in line with its new sales strategy, Metsä Wood has actively been expanding its operations into growth markets, such as the United States and Asia, over the past three years.
In late 2015, Metsä Wood signed a distribution agreement with Tilling in Australia. As a result, Tilling will become Metsä Wood's largest Kerto customer.
"New products, markets and customers support our growth strategy as the economic situation in Europe continues to be weak. We are familiar with the Australian market from years ago. Now the Kerto mill in Lohja has developed a new product that meets the customer's requirements. Even though the delivery distance is long, we are competitive in the Australian market," says

Tilling is the largest distributor of engineered wood products in Australia. The company focuses on construction market, with special expertise in LVL and other engineered wood products. In addition to distribution, Tilling provides its customers with design services, tools and cutting services.
