Solution
The building is nearly 70 metres long and 21 metres deep with a roof ridge almost 10 metres above ground level. The manor’s livestock shed is built with three-pin frame made of Kerto® LVL (laminated veneer lumber). The leg of the frame is cross laminated Kerto LVL Q while the top chord is Kerto LVL S.
Results
The advantages of Kerto’s three-pin frame are its lightness, strength and speed of erection. Furthermore, it is easy to estimate the quantity of material on the basis of standard solutions. There are no restrictions on openings at each end of the frame. Long-span portal frames are also used for machinery sheds, warehouses, and riding schools.
