Wood is a flexible material – ideal for digital design

In this Talking Wood video, Shajay Bhooshan, Senior Associate at Zaha Hadid Computation and Design Group in London, shares his thoughts about wood as a construction material. Among other things, he mentions its lightweight and green properties. Thanks to its flexibility and diversity, it is also an ideal material for digital design.

Bhooshan also shares his ideas about the social aspect of buildings. He reminds us that building houses is not just about energy and square meters. It is just as much about neighbours and other social points.

Let us develop the wood construction industry

Sharing ideas and knowledge about wood construction is a prerequisite for developing the industry. The Open Source Wood initiative was launched to put this knowledge-sharing into practice. Shajay Bhooshan and Zaha Hadid Computation and Design Group are also participating in the initiative and are currently working on a project using elements on the Open Source Wood platform.  Joining the initiative gives you the opportunity to connect with architects, structural designers and other wood building professionals around the world.
