Metsä Wood UK has over 20 years' experience in supplying the UK's largest DIY chains with our varied portfolio of timber products. Most of our wood comes from sustainably-managed Finnish forests. We plant four saplings for every tree that is harvested, meaning that, in Finland, forests are growing 40% faster than they're being used. Read more about our sustainability work on the Metsä Group website.

Easy ordering and delivery

Metsä Wood UK is a one-stop shop for all your timber products, from stick timber to sheet materials. This means that you will only have one delivery truck arriving to supply your whole timber range, easing congestion and allowing your warehouse and yard staff to manage your stock inventory efficiently.

Varied delivery options

We can deliver direct to store or to your distribution centres, if required. Nominated order and delivery days allow various delivery options (depending on your requirements) including weekly, fortnightly or even multiple deliveries per week.

On time in full (OTIF)

Metsä Wood UK consistently achieves over 99% 'on time in full' (OTIF) delivery accuracy to our retail customers. This ensures a reliable supply for you and your customers.

Electronic trading (EDI)

You have the option to trade with us electronically, via EDI, using our automated order-to-invoice process.

Good faith receiving (GFR)

Metsä Wood UK understands the benefits of good faith receiving (GFR) to our retail customers. A track record of 100% delivery accuracy of Metsä Wood products into the retail market allows faster offload at point of delivery, getting the stock on your shelves quicker.

Improving stock availability

We like to work closely with our retail customers to understand their stock requirements. We can work with your electronic point of sale (EPOS) data and use forecast analysis to ensure stock is available to meet your demands. We pride ourselves on our forecast accuracy and ensuring continuity of supply at all times.

Full account management

At Metsä Wood UK, we can provide full account management. This includes a dedicated internal customer support team who are on-hand to support you via phone or email. You can find our contact details here.

Merchandising

Metsä Wood UK's team of merchandisers offer in-store sales support to retailers. This is a proactive service which is designed to maximise timber sales, rather than simply focusing on housekeeping. This could include assistance with range reviews and revamps, if required.

Timber training

We understand that knowledge is a tool for increasing sales, which is why we offer a range of training options to improve your store staff's understanding of timber products. This training can be carried out in-store or online, via our e-learning platform which includes a series of 'introduction to timber' modules. Decking and balustrading

With multiple decking board options to choose from, Metsä Wood UK provides the widest range of decking available on the market. Whether you choose traditional slow-grown softwood, composite, or one of our low-slip deckings, you can be assured that our timber is fully certified and of the highest quality. Fencing and garden products

We offer a range of pressure-treated loose fencing and other materials - including sleepers and pergolas - to compliment your customers' garden projects.

Carcassing

For construction applications such as house extensions, loft conversions and floor joists above DPC, Metsä Wood UK provides a range of treated and untreated regularised timber.

Machined softwood timber

Our machined timber is slow grown, kiln dried, responsibly sourced Nordic timber. We offer an extensive range including PSEs, linings and casings, skirtings and architraves, and internal and external claddings. Metsä Wood UK's range of high quality machined mouldings includes over 400 SKUs.

MDF mouldings

Metsä Wood UK produces our range of MDF mouldings in-house at our site in Boston, Lincolnshire. This includes skirting, architrave, windowboard, dado rail, door linings and door casings.

Our MDF mouldings are machined from moisture-resistant MDF, before being primed with two coats of acrylic primer, ready for installation. A fully finished version is also available.

Sawn joinery

Metsä Wood UK supplies Nordic Premium Timber which is produced by Metsä Fibre, Finland. Using these sawmills ensures a reliable supply from sustainably-managed forests. Both treated and untreated sawn joinery is available.

Sheet materials

Metsä Wood UK supplies a range of full size and cut size sheet materials, including chipboard, hardboard, OSB, MDF and an extensive range of structural and non-structural plywoods.

In addition, Metsä Wood produces our own range of specialist sheet materials, including spruce and birch plywood panels.
